Go Fish

Eating two or three servings of fish per week is a great way to get healthy and fit.

Alaskan wild-caught salmon is one of the most nutritious types of fish to incorporate into your meal planning. Salmon is an excellent source of high quality protein, vitamins and minerals (including potassium, selenium, iron, zinc, niacin, vitamin B6 and B12). What I like most about it, is that it is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids which are just so good for you, especially your skin. It keeps your skin supple and moisturized.

The fatter the salmon, the more nutritious and healthier it is. It’s delicious on top of a salad or next to some vegetables. My favorite types of salmon are Coho and Sockeye.

Here are some reasons why salmon is super healthy:

  1. Crucial for immune system to be strong
  2. Boost brain function along with improving your mood and memory
  3. Anti-inflammatory diet staple
  4. Lean protein: 4 ounces = 26 grams of protein
  5. May benefit weight control
  6. Improves bone health
  7. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids
  8. Can lower risk of chronic disease
  9. Makes skin glow
  10. Aids in heart health
  11. Promotes heart health
  12. Prevents some eye problems

Salmon is just so tasty and has so many health benefits. Start eating it now for a disease-free life while you work to make health your hobby.

What Surprises the Dalai Lama

When a student asked what surprised him about humanity the most, the Dalai Lama replied, “Man.”

“Why is that?” asked the student.

“Because,” the Dalai said, “He sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
